The name ‘Kudremukh’ literally means ‘horse face’ and as you approach the final summit ridge, you’ll see why. With wide valley views, misty meadows, and an undulating path through evergreen forests, this trek delivers postcard moments every few kilometers. No wonder it’s considered one of Karnataka’s most scenic trails.

We usually begin the journey from Bangalore, but you’re not limited to just that. If you’re joining from another town (like Mangalore, Hassan, or Chikmagalur), you can mention your preferred Pick-up Point while filling out the form. We’ll try our best to coordinate a convenient stop for you.

Day 1 | Overnight Journey from Bangalore
Activity: Travel to Kudremukh Region
Departure Time: Around 9:00 PM
Your weekend adventure begins with an overnight departure from Bangalore towards the Western Ghats. Board the vehicle from your chosen pickup point across the city and settle in for a comfortable night drive.
Use this time to meet fellow trekkers, relax, and gear up mentally for the experience ahead as we make our way to the Kudremukh region.
Day 2 | Nature Experiences
Activity: Local Exploration & Rest Day
Start Time: Early Morning
Arrive at the homestay early morning and freshen up.
Enjoy a wholesome breakfast prepared at the homestay
Step out for a short scenic walk to Bavikonda Viewpoint, offering sweeping valley views and a gentle introduction to the terrain
Break for a self-sponsored lunch en route
Visit Somavathi Waterfalls to relax and spend time in a natural setting
Return to the homestay by evening
Dinner and overnight stay at the property
This day is designed to help you settle in, absorb the landscape, and conserve energy for the summit trek.
Day 3 | Kudremukh Peak Trek & Return
Activity: Summit Trek & Journey Back to Bangalore
Start Time: Early Morning
Wake up early and have breakfast before heading to the trek starting point.
Begin the trek to Kudremukh Peak, covering approximately 20 km round trip
Trek through dense forests, rolling grasslands, and stream crossings that define the Kudremukh landscape
Reach the summit and spend time enjoying the panoramic views from the top
Descend back to the base and return to the homestay
Freshen up and have lunch
Start the return journey to Bangalore in the afternoon
Expected arrival in Bangalore by late night (around 11:00 PM)
