Step into a winter fairytale deep in the Garhwal Himalayas. The Brahmatal Trek is a snow-lover’s dream — alpine lakes, forested switchbacks, ridgeline camps, and sweeping summit views of Mt. Trishul and Mt. Nanda Ghunti. This beginner-friendly snow trek is perfect for first-timers and seasoned explorers alike who crave solitude and starry nights.

With well-paced trails, charming forest routes, and panoramic viewpoints that will leave you breathless (literally and figuratively), Brahmatal offers everything you expect from a Himalayan winter trek — minus the crowds.

Day 1 – Drive from Rishikesh to Lohajung (7,600 ft)
Kick off your journey with a scenic 9–10 hour drive through Devprayag, Karnaprayag, and village roads to Lohajung — the trailhead of the Brahmatal trek.

Day 2 – Trek to Bekaltal (9,700 ft, 6.5 km)
An easy ascent through forests and mountain meadows brings you to your first campsite beside the beautiful Bekaltal lake. Expect snow patches by late afternoon in peak season.

Day 3 – Trek to Brahmatal Base Camp (10,500 ft, 7 km)
A mix of uphill climbs and open ridgelines as you gain altitude. Camp near the base of the Brahmatal summit with 360° Himalayan views.

Day 4 – Summit Day: Brahmatal Top (12,250 ft) & Return to Base Camp
Your most exhilarating day — a steady climb to the summit. On a clear day, witness Mt. Trishul and Nanda Ghunti up close. Return to base camp for the night.

Day 5 – Trek back to Lohajung (via Bekaltal)
Descend through forest trails blanketed in snow and reach Lohajung by evening.

Day 6 – Drive from Lohajung to Rishikesh
Say goodbye to the mountains as you descend back to city life — refreshed and full of stories.
